On the last run of a five-thousand-vertical day, the sun nearly wins.
The morning has been flat. The cloud has been thinning for hours but not breaking, and the wind has been working the surface across every aspect. By late afternoon the light is almost through. A partner skis into the turn from above the rock spine, and the spindrift his edge throws catches what direct light there is.
The frame is monochrome because color was unhelpful. The print is what the day worked for.
